The “Business for Equal Opportunities” forum has been held annually since 2009. The facilitator of this forum is the Business Council on Disability with the assistance of Regional Disabled People Public Organization “ROOI Perspectiva” (‘Perspective’).
The purpose of this event is to show how we can integrate people with reduced capabilities into modern society.
The main discussions were around:
- Services and technology adaptation for the convenience of clients with reduced capabilities;
- Inclusive employment, the current situation, attraction strategies, practical companies’ experience; and
- Business-oriented training for people with reduced capabilities.
At the forum on February 19, 2014 there were more than 120 representatives of Russian business, who actively participated in solving the problems of employment for people with reduced capabilities. Among them were HeadHunter, Microsoft, IBM, «Megafon», MTS, «OBI», EY, «Atlas-Kopko», FM-Logistic, Siemens, Nike, Daimler, Hyundai Motor CIS, DPD, KMPG, Novartis, SAP, Unilever, ExxonMobil, etc.
New practices were presented at the forum. For example, the experience of SAP which not only employs people with reduced capabilities but also helps them to find job at their partners’ companies. At the same time an HR agency “Staffwell” overturned stereotypes of recruiting, having organized a team of interns which consists of candidates with reduced capabilities.
